The Spiky Skield seems like an odd inclusion, and it is. The Spiky Shield used to be a [[Support]] weapon in the beta version of the game, and the option for Pacifist to start with it is left as a relic that never got fixed. It isn't recommended to start with Spiky Shield.

Character

Pacifist is a playable character in the game. Individual characters differ in their Stats and traits, to encourage a variety of play styles in Brotato.

How to Unlock

Collect 10000 materials

Unlocks

Unlocks Panda if you win a game with Pacifist:

Pacifist

The Pacifist starts with a large negative to Damage and Engineering, preventing them from dealing damage to enemies.

Not killing enemies is normally a big problem, since it means you don't get Materials. That isn't a problem for the Pacifist. You get an amount of XP and Gold equal to 65% of the enemies on the screen, and 65% of the enemies that despawned during the wave. There is a limit of 100 enemies that can be on the screen at once. If more spawns, a random enemy is despawned without dropping loot. Pacifist is the exception when it comes to being rewarded for these. The limit excludes Elites, Bosses, and Trees.

However, the Pacifist only gains 1 Material for each enemy, even though that enemy might have dropped several materials upon death. But on the other hand, once you reach wave 5+ enemies' drop chance for materials begin to decrease. See the Materials Page.

On Horde Waves the amount of materials gained is halved. But the vast amount of extra creatures help make up for it.

While Pacifist might get slightly less materials from their pacifist mechanic compared to just killing enemies, the Pacifist gets use to Support weapon class. You also don't have to invest in offensive stats such as Damage, Melee Damage, Attack Speed, and Crit Chance in order to win the game, and can focus on their defense instead.

Starting Weapons

The Spiky Skield seems like an odd inclusion, and it is. The Spiky Shield used to be a Support weapon in the beta version of the game, and the option for Pacifist to start with it is left as a relic that never got fixed. It isn't recommended to start with Spiky Shield.

Starting Items

Pacifist starts with 1 item that improves their materials collection and survivability.

Item Effect Notes
Trees die in one hit Allows the pacifist to actually kill trees in a reasonable time. Your weapons will deal 1 damage per hit in most cases.
