Item
Hunting Trophy is an in-game item that can be bought from a Shop or can be found in a Crate. Most Items modify the Stats of the player, and some of them provide additional effects.
Hunting Trophy
Hunting Trophy gives you a chance to gain Materials when you kill an enemy by a critical hit. Similar to the Thief Dagger.
Unlike the Materials gained by Harvesting, Hunting Trophies don't give Experience. It only gives you the Currency Part of Materials.
Stacking
Hunting Trophies stack independently rather than additively. This means that if you have 2 hunting trophies, each have 33% chance to give a material, so there's a chance that 0, 1, or 2 gold is given.
An easier way to understand it is that the game rolls a 6-sided die when an enemy dies to a drop. And then you get 1 materials if the die lands on 5 or 6. If you have 2 or 3 hunting trophies, you roll 2 or 3 dice and get materials for each dice that lands on a 5 or 6.
But note that Hunting Trophies have a 33% chance, and not 33.3% or 1/3 chance. So the math is slightly different than the dice example.
The math isn't super important since you kill a lot of enemies, so the results average out. On average two Hunting Trophies give double the gold compared to having one Hunting Trophy. And three Hunting Trophies give triple.
You can see the exact math in the table below.
Amount of Gold | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 Hunting Trophy | 67% | 33% | 0% | 0% |
2 Hunting Trophies | 44.89% | 44.22% | 10.89% | 0% |
3 Hunting Trophies | 30.08% | 44.44% | 21.89% | 3.59% |
