Waves

In Brotato the gameplay is made up

At the End of each wave, all remaining Materials are bagged, and all Consumables and Loot Crates are picked up.

Then you get or Recycle the items from the loot crates, and select the Upgrades you have earned from Leveling Up.

And Finally there is a Shop at the end of each wave, where you can spend the materials you have collected. And from the shop you can start the next Wave.

Duration

The first wave only last 20 seconds, but the duration increases with 5 seconds for each wave until the duration has reached 60 seconds.

Note that Wave 20 only lasts 60 Seconds when playing a run on Endless Mode

Elite and Horde Waves

Elite and Horde Waves are challenging waves that appears on higher Danger Levels.

When you are playing on Danger Level 0 and 1, no Elite or Horde Waves appear. When playing on Danger Level 2 and 3, one Horde or Elite Wave Appears And when playing on Danger Level 4 or 5, three Horde and/or Elite Waves appear.


The three Waves are spread across the later waves of the game. One Elite or Horde wave will appear on wave 11 or 12. If you're playing on Danger 2 or 3, this is the wave you'll face. The 2nd challenging wave will happen on wave 14 or 15.

The third wave is guaranteed to be an Elite Wave and happens on wave 17 or wave 18.

It is random whether you get a horde or an elite wave on the two first challenging waves. There is a 40% chance for the challenging wave to be a Horde Wave and 60% for it to be an Elite Wave. You can see the incoming waves in the bottom right corner of the screen in the Shop. (As seen on the Picture to the Right)

Boss Wave

The 20th Wave is the final wave of the run, and to challenge you, One or Two Bosses spawn and will attempt to defeat you.

Once the Boss or Bosses have been defeated, the wave ends, and you've won the run.

Unless you're playing on Endless Mode.

Endless Waves

Endless Waves are the waves that come after you've defeated the Wave 20 Boss/Bosses if you are playing on Endless Mode.

Endless Mode is a game mode that can be toggled on and off in the Menu when you are selecting a Danger Level to play.

When playing in Endless Mode, the game doesn't end after beating the final Wave 20, but instead keeps going until you die.

As the waves progress, the difficulty of the game dramatically increases, ensuring your demise.

If you managed to beat at least wave 20, the run will count as a win when you die.
